Community guidelines
Let the lenses split.
Keep the room intact.
SpectraFrame welcomes strong opinions, close readings, disagreement, and debate. These rules keep the pressure on the ideas without turning it against the people sharing them.
Effective August 1, 2026
Debate the work
Challenge scores, frameworks, evidence, interpretations, and assumptions. Do not insult, shame, stalk, threaten, or harass the person behind them. Disagreement is expected; dehumanization is not.
No hate or targeted abuse
Do not attack or demean people based on protected characteristics, encourage exclusion or violence, use slurs to target others, or organize harassment. Credible threats and promotion of violent wrongdoing are prohibited.
Protect privacy
Do not publish private or identifying information about another person without permission. Do not impersonate members, public figures, staff, or organizations, and do not use deception to obtain account information.
Mark spoilers
Make spoilers clear in thread titles and before revealing major plot information. A film’s age does not make consideration for another viewer obsolete.
Keep it relevant
Use film tags, titles, genres, frameworks, and CounterFrames accurately enough that others can find and understand the conversation. Repeated promotion, unrelated advertising, engagement manipulation, and automated spam are not allowed.
Publish what you may share
Write in your own voice. Short quotations used for criticism may be appropriate, but do not upload pirated films, unauthorized screeners, full scripts, extensive copyrighted material, or content that violates another person’s rights.
Moderation
Members can edit or delete supported contributions, and administrators may remove content or restrict accounts under the Terms of Service. Enforcement may consider severity, context, pattern, and risk. Attempts to evade an account action may result in further restrictions.
When a thread goes wrong
Do not escalate. Step away, preserve relevant context, and bring the issue to the site administrator. Good-faith criticism of moderation is allowed; retaliation against a reporter or moderator is not.
