Why it exists

The Resonance Framework creates a consistent language for revisiting films over time. Each category captures a different part of the experience, while the final score remains a personal critical judgment—not a public consensus.

How it works

Each category is scored from 1 to 10. SpectraFrame multiplies every score by its weight, adds the results, and rounds the final Resonance Score to two decimal places.

Resonance Score = Σ (category score × category weight)

A film scored 8.0 in every category receives an 8.0 Resonance Score.

The weights total 100%, so the calculation remains legible. A 9.0 in Emotional Impact contributes 2.25 points; a 9.0 in Visuals contributes 0.9 points.

The Resonance Score is calculated from the shared framework and always shown alongside the six visible category scores that produced it.

Can a score change?

Yes. Rewatches and reconsiderations are part of Afterlight. The Studio preserves the latest authored verdict and its viewing context.

Who can publish a score?

Every registered SpectraFrame member can publish a film rating through Resonance or through a six-part framework they created. The complete breakdown remains visible on their profile.

Can I create my own framework?

Yes. Member frameworks always contain six transparent, weighted dimensions totaling 100%. They can be shared and discussed, while only their creator can edit them.
